This photo captures the serene beauty of Grasmere in the Lake District. The stillness of the water creates a perfect mirror, reflecting the lush green hills and autumnal trees that surround the lake, with the overcast sky adding a soft, muted tone to the scene. In the distance, a small boathouse peeks through the foliage, adding a touch of human presence to the otherwise untouched landscape. I shot this using the Sony a7iii paired with the Sony 14mm GM lens, which allowed me to capture the wide expanse of the scene in sharp detail. The ultra-wide lens emphasized the depth of the composition, with the overhanging branches framing the shot naturally. Taking advantage of the calm, windless conditions, I focused on highlighting the symmetry between the land and its reflection, creating a peaceful and balanced image.
