While snowboarding at Levi Ski Resort in Finland, I came across this breathtaking view and couldn’t resist capturing it, even though I only had my phone with me. Despite the freezing temperature of around -25°C, the winter sun hung low in the sky, casting a soft, warm glow over the snow-covered landscape. This warmth from the sunset felt like a comforting contrast to the biting cold, painting the horizon with fiery colors that stood out against the icy blues and whites of the snow. The untouched snow, marked only by the winding paths of previous skiers, stretched out before me, while the trees stood tall and frozen, their branches draped in thick layers of snow and frost. The scene felt almost magical, as the sun’s light danced off the icy surfaces, making the entire landscape sparkle in the cold afternoon. This moment was one of pure tranquility, where the beauty of nature felt almost overwhelming, a surreal reminder of the Arctic wilderness’ otherworldly charm even on the coldest days.
