This shot turned out to be a humorous and unexpected moment. I was walking around the Botanic Gardens, aiming to capture some autumn scenes, when I noticed this duck sitting quietly on the edge of the pond, staring into the water - probably looking at his own reflection. I crouched down low to get the perfect angle, thinking I’d snap a peaceful moment of quiet contemplation. But as soon as I was ready to press the shutter, something surprising happened. The duck looked straight at me, stood up, and started waddling toward me with curiosity. Before I knew it, his head was right in my lens! I quickly captured the moment, and it turned out to be a wonderfully quirky, close-up shot of this curious mallard. Sometimes, the best moments in wildlife photography are the ones you don’t expect!
